second opinion please - is cnn presenting the hurricane story with the appropriate level of severity? can't they at least make an attempt at grabbing my attention? i keep waiting for that great moment when headlines read "DEATH IMMINENT". you know they're not far off.
what i lament most about the hurricane is that the people who lost and/or suffered the greatest were the impoverished. i think new orleans has roughly one-third of its citizens living below the poverty level, and the east side (the side that is now underwater) is the poorer section of the city.
die-hard capitalists would say that this is god's way of punishing poor people. of course falwell will say that it's to punish gays. all very rational assertions.
